1. Recoleta Cemetery

This is not your typical graveyard. It's a haven for Argentina's wealthy, renowned, and powerful. Impressive, ornate mausoleums are in this little corner of the city, where you can spend hours wandering through a maze of family graves. Although admission is free, you may need to buy a map to get around. The most "popular" attraction here is first lady Eva Perón's tomb, where people still leave bouquets and tributes. 

2. Eat Steak, Drink Malbec

After all, you are in Argentina. Beef, as well as the act of gathering for a barbecue (known as an "asado"), is an important component of Argentine culture. Enjoy some of their high-quality foods and a glass of their local red wine. Don Julio and La Cabrera are two excellent steakhouses in the city, but if you want to splurge, Cabana Las Lilas is a must-visit. Before you go, brush up on your Spanish by saying "bife de lomo" for sirloin and "ojo de bife" for ribeye. If you prefer it medium rare, request it "jugoso." 3. Visit Tigre

If you want to get away from the city for a while, board the train to Tigre and spend the day exploring the delta. It's very simple, only 6 pesos ($0.38 USD), and takes about an hour. The ideal time to visit is Sunday, when you can explore the city's Puerto de Frutos, an enormous marketplace with arts and crafts, foods, and handmade furnishings. On the main dock, there's also an artist's market, a park, and a few institutions. While you're there, you can take a boat tour, hire a kayak, or take a ferry to some of the waterfront restaurants and clubs.

4. Milonga 

Because Buenos Aires is the birthplace of tango, it's the ideal location to learn... or watch the pros. You could go to one of those dinner-and-tango shows, but why not go for the genuine deal? A "milonga" is a place where people go dancing the tango, and based on the day of the week, there are many authentic ones around the city. On Sunday nights, there is a milonga in San Telmo's Plaza Dorrego, where you can see people dancing in the street. La Glorieta is an open-air milonga in Belgrano that offers free milongas on weekends in exchange for contributions.
