To me, the Throwback arena represents new challenges from aaron's blog

To me, the Throwback arena represents new challenges, new tactics to learn, and new opportunities for creative goals. Throwback is just different enough to require new approaches to the game, but familiar enough that your skills carry over from standard arenas- something that the Rocket Labs maps missed out on.

Since the arena's inset goals inhibit players' ability to roll the ball along the wall to the goal, a successful assist on Throwback requires a sharp cross to a teammate in the center, a calculated bounce off of the wall, or a lob from behind the goal itself. Learning these new skills reminds me of why I fell in love with Rocket League in the first place, and a goal on Throwback brings about the same sense of accomplishment that I remember having as a new player.
